WHAT IS MODESTO ON ICE PRESENTED BY MODESTO SUBARU?
Modesto On Ice—proudly presented by Modesto Subaru—is a magical, seasonal ice-skating rink located in the heart of downtown Modesto at 11th and K Streets.  Open every year from mid-November through mid-January, our tent-covered rink offers an unforgettable winter experience for all ages. Locally owned and operated by the Halsey family, Modesto On Ice has become a beloved holiday tradition, thanks to our incredible community and long-standing partnership with Modesto Subaru, our title sponsor.

WHEN ARE YOU OPEN?
We’ll be open every day from Saturday, November 22, 2025 through Monday, January 19, 2026, including holidays!  Hours may vary depending on holidays, school breaks, or private events, so the best way to check availability is through our online ticket system.

HOW DO I GET TICKETS?
You can grab your tickets at Tickets.ModestoOnIce.com or at the Ticket Booth on-site, based on availability. Online sales close 30 minutes before each skating session—after that, remaining tickets are available only at the booth. To secure your preferred time, we recommend purchasing in advance! Buying ahead of time guarantees your spot—especially on busy weekends when many sessions sell-out.

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?
Each skating session is 1 hour and 20 minutes long and includes skate rental.
Ages 3–12: $15 (must be 3 years old to skate). Ages 13 and up: $19

DO YOU HAVE SKATE HELPERS?
Yes. We offer a limited number of skating aids called Walkers, which can be rented for $5 per session. Walkers are available at the Ticket Booth on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that only 35 Walkers are allowed per session, so availability is limited.

DO I NEED TO SIGN A WAIVER?
Yes, every skater must have a waiver. Adults (18+) must have their own. Under 18 must be listed as a Minor on a parent or legal guardian’s waiver. When a waiver is completed online, a Modesto On Ice Waiver is sent that includes a barcode. Show us that barcode at check-in so we can quickly locate your waiver in our system.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?

• Yes! We have several ways to save:
• Group Discount: 10% off when purchasing 15+ tickets in one order.
• Family Four Pack: 2 adult + 2 child tickets for $58 (save $10).
• Military Discount: $2 off for active-duty and veteran skaters.
• Bring Your Own Skates: $3. 
• Season Passes: For individual skaters, save big with our 10-Pack or Season Pass.
• Kids’ Days: Select days throughout the season where kids (3–12) skate at half price.
• Subie Sundays: Own a Subaru? On Sundays during the month of January, show us your keys and you and one passenger skate for free! It’s our way of saying thanks to Subaru owners for their continued support.

WHAT SKATE SIZES DO YOU OFFER?
We have both figure and hockey skates ranging from Youth 8 to Men’s 16. Quantities in the smallest and largest sizes are limited, so arrive early if you need them.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU RESURFACE THE ICE?
We use the 10 minutes between sessions to resurface the ice with our Zamboni. This helps create a smooth sheet of ice for everyone to enjoy.

DO I HAVE TO PAY IF I’M NOT SKATING?
Spectators accompanying paid skaters are welcome free of charge!
 Relax with a warm drink or snack from our Snack Shack while you watch the fun.

CAN WHEELCHAIRS GO ON THE ICE?  
Absolutely! Skaters using wheelchairs are welcome at all public sessions.
 We recommend visiting on less crowded days (avoiding weekend nights) and ask that minors or those needing assistance be accompanied by an adult. Let us know at check-in so we can help make your visit comfortable.

ARE YOU OPEN WHEN IT RAINS?
Yes! Our rink, party area, and Snack Shack are all tent-covered, keeping you dry while you skate. You might get a few raindrops on your way in, but the fun continues—rain or shine!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Socks are required for all rental skates. Choose thin or medium-weight, ideally moisture-wicking socks that come up at least mid-calf length to prevent rubbing and ensure a comfortable fit inside the skate. If you forget, socks are available for $3.50 at the Ticket Booth.  We also recommend dressing in layers—you’ll warm up as you glide around the rink!

WHERE CAN I PARK?
The City parking lot adjacent to the ice rink offers convenient parking. Please note that it is a paid, hourly, per-space lot costing $1.25 per hour, and payment must be made in advance at the parking kiosk before entering the rink area. There is also a City parking garage across the street. For more information on parking, please visit the City of Modesto Parking Services website.

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINKS?
We don’t allow outside food or drinks, with the exception of dessert with parties that are booked in our party tent. Our Snack Shack has plenty of tasty options to enjoy.

WHAT'S ON THE SNACK SHACK MENU?
Warm up with loaded hot chocolate, cider, coffee, tea, and more, or snack on nachos, hot dogs, cookies, popcorn, chips, candy, and Cup O’Noodles. You can even make your own S’mores over our cozy fire pits!

DO YOU SHARPEN SKATES?
Yes! We offer skate sharpening for $5. Fun fact—our sharpener once belonged to the Tampa Bay Lightning National Hockey League team!

WHERE CAN I STORE MY BELONGINGS?
We provide free, unlocked lockers for guests. Bring a padlock if you’d like to secure your items. Please note we’re not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.

DO YOU  SELL GIFT CERTIFICATES?
Yes! Gift certificates make great holiday gifts and can be purchased at our Ticket Booth during business hours.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept cash, credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Please note: a 3% convenience fee applies to all non-cash payments. (No checks, please!)

WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SKATE?
Group lessons are available—sign up early, they fill fast.

CAN I GO ON THE ICE IN REGULAR SHOES?
No—you must be wearing skates, have a waiver on file, and have paid admission to enter the ice surface.

CAN I WALK TO MY CAR ON SKATES?
Please don’t! Skates can only be worn on the ice or on our rubber mats.
 Leaving those areas can damage the blades (and you might be responsible for the damage).  If you need to step away, ask our Skate Shed attendant to hold your skates for you.

DO YOU HAVE RESTROOMS?
Yes—we have restrooms and an ADA-accessible unit located on the northeast side of the rink.

CAN I RESERVE THE RINK FOR A PRIVATE EVENT?
Yes! You can book private ice time during select hours. Private events include exclusive use of the rink for 90 minutes, skate rentals for up to 160 guests, free use of walkers, and a Cocoa Coupon for each guest (redeemable for hot chocolate, soda, or coffee). WHAT'S YOUR REFUND POLICY?
All sales are final. Requests to reschedule tickets, lessons or party bookings may be considered in advance at the discretion of management and are subject to availability.

ARE THERE AGE RESTRICTIONS?
Skaters must be at least 3 years old to skate. .

CAN I CARRY MY CHILD WHILE SKATING?
No, as it's a major fall risk for both of you.

CAN I LIVE STREAM AT THE ICE RINK?
For the privacy and safety of our guests, live streaming is prohibited at the ice rink. This policy helps ensure a comfortable and secure environment for everyone, including minors. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
