Minimum Requirements to Work at Modesto On Ice
  • Must be at least 16 years old by November 17, 2025
  • Able to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Comfortable multi-tasking in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Open to direction and coaching from managers and returning staff
  • Dependable, punctual, and a strong team player with a friendly, outgoing attitude
  • Works well with others to complete tasks and support the team
  • Willing to help keep the rink clean and welcoming—including pitching in on less glamorous tasks when needed
  • Comfortable working outdoors in cold temperatures
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Brings a genuine desire to make this more than just a job—helping create magical holiday memories for guests and teammates alike

Bonus Skills (a plus, but not required)
  • Ice skating, cashiering, food service, customer service, Bilingual (English/Spanish)

EMPLOYMENT POSITION OPPORTUNITIES

SKATE SHED SKATE GUARD
As a Skate Shed / Skate Guard, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for all guests. This position combines guest service with rink safety, skate management, and general operations support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Skate confidently and remain on the ice for extended periods.
  • Monitor the rink and surrounding areas to identify and address safety concerns.
  • Clearly explain and enforce rink rules to ensure patron safety.
  • Assist skaters who fall, assessing whether additional help is needed.
  • Complete incident reports accurately, with clear and factual details.
  • Provide calm, professional assistance during emergencies (e.g., power outages or evacuations).
  • Dispense rental skates to guests with proper session wristbands.
  • Collect, inspect, and return skates efficiently and in good condition.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of the rink.
  • Make clear announcements at the beginning, during, and end of skating sessions.
  • Support opening and closing procedures as assigned.

TICKET BOOTH ATTENDANT
The Ticket Booth Attendant is the first point of contact for many of our guests and plays a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient check-in experience. This position combines customer service, sales transactions, and support for special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service to guests checking in for skating sessions or attending/hosting parties.
  • Accurately process cash and credit card transactions for admissions, services, and products.
  • Greet guests, verify required waiver completed, issue wristbands, share rink and event information, and assist party hosts and attendees.
  • Interact with customers both in person and over the phone.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer and handle money accurately.
  • Support daily opening and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Be flexible and willing to assist in other areas of the rink when needed.
  • Availability to work up to 30 hours per week.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions.
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

SNACK SHACK ATTENDANT
Snack Shack Attendants help create a fun and welcoming guest experience by serving snacks and beverages in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Previous food service experience is a plus, but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly, efficient customer service by greeting guests, taking orders, and serving snacks and beverages.
  • Accurately process cash and credit card transactions.
  • Prepare and serve food and drinks quickly and safely.
  • Work closely with party hosts to ensure their needs are met.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the concession area, equipment, party tent, and surrounding spaces.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations.
  • Support daily opening and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Maintain a balanced cash drawer and handle money accurately.
  • Must obtain a valid California Food Handler Card by November 17, 2025
